The tower of babel was real - some very compelling evidence

From the video description:

"Biblical scholars have long debated whether the Tower of Babel really existed. Now, a remarkable stone tablet never before shown on film appears to settle that question."

The story of the Tower of Babel is one of the more well known stories of the Bible. It tells of how mankind created a tower to reach the heavens prior to God scattering man across the Earth and confounding our ability to easily communicate with one another through the advent of different languages. Like many stories of the Bible, however, many people are quick to discount the story as mere fiction, since they are likely unaware that any potential evidence exists related to the story. In fact, for centuries people weren't even sure if the city of Babylon existed, let alone the Tower of Babel. However, the ruins of the city that once stood over 4000 years ago can still be seen in present day Iraq, and although in tatters parts of the ancient walls and roads are still preserved. As for the Tower itself, while the ruins of the great tower aren't necessarily standing today, there nonetheless exists some evidence that it was in fact real, affording credence to the Biblical story as real history. Watch this short clip from the Smithsonian that presents one piece of such evidence.
